June Meeting Minutes

June 10, 2008              I.     Call to order:          The meeting was called to order by President-Elect Toni Medjuck at 9:00 a.m.   Pledge of Allegiance was led by Pauline Callahan   Inspiration was given by Pauline Callaghan   Introduction of guests:  Guests were introduced by Toni Medjuck to those in attendance.   Happy Birthday wishes were given by Toni Medjuck.   Speaker Introduction:  Linda Goldfarb introduced our guest speaker, Marge Coffing, Realtor, Investor and Author.  “Understanding Fractional Ownership – Make it work for YOU” was the topic Ms. Coffing shared with us exactly what a fractional ownership was, the history and the many misconceptions in working with this type of real estate transaction.  Ms. Coffing also spoke about differences between this and time shares and regulations to the Association.            II.     REPORTS   Secretary:  Minutes from the April 8, 2008 meeting were submitted for approval by Secretary, Mary Ann Biggs. Treasurer:  Report available upon request. Membership:  Toni Medjuck announced there was one new member, bringing our total membership to 85. Education:  Linda Goldfarb announced the upcoming speaker for our August 12th meeting would be Ken Burke, Clerk of Court.  Any specific questions for Mr. Burke should be emailed to Vivian Lurie.  September meeting we will have Rep DeLoach talking about Probate issues and in October, Mike Mayo from PRO will be here.          III.     Unfinished Business:  Our President, Temme Peterson will be returning for our next meeting in August.  Reminder we will not be having a July meeting.  Reminder about volunteer committee opportunities.  Call or send Toni Medjuck if you would like to assist in any committees or do the pledge or inspiration!          IV.     New Business:  Joy Keomany introduced our new members.              V.     Announcements:  Toni Medjuck went over announcements: ·       FAR convention & trade expo Sept. 24 – 28th at Buena Vista Palace Resort ·       NAR Conference and Expo on Nov. 5th – 10th in Orlando, FL ·       Centennial Mosaics: Log onto www.realtor.org/centennial to upload your photo. ·       Reminder – have you taken your 2005 – 2008 Quadrennial Ethics Training?  Free online course through NAR website.  Deadline 12/31/08. ·       Congratulations to Ben Friedlander – upcoming candidate for Pinellas County Property Appraiser. ·       Next Meeting is Tuesday, August 12th at Bayou Club. ·       Phyllis Apoine conducted a raffle.
